Generally speaking, the entire silicone processing process requires the cooperation of multiple departments and goes through several important stages from new product design, hand molding, mold manufacturing, mass production, and final inspection. Prototyping

Yuanyi is your highly trustworthy design partner. From your inquiry and customization requirements to project feasibility assessment, and finally to 2D or 3D drawing confirmation, we provide the fastest early design support and useful suggestions, as well as multiple communications with your engineers to modify specific details. This process ensures that the final design meets your product requirements including dimensions, internal structure, tolerances, and performance. Quick prototype production

Before opening the mass production mold, we usually program and open 1-2 cavity sample molds through confirmed 3D drawings. The process generally takes place in our in-house mold shop and is completed within 2-7 days. The main purpose of prototype manufacturing (first sample) is to allow customers to confirm the structure. If the customer engineer reports that the initial sample does not match the final drawing, we can quickly modify the mold in the mold room and re-send the sample to the customer so that they can confirm the final prototype.

Mold making

After confirming the prototype, our mold engineers began to do some preliminary work to create the mold, such as making layout drawings of the reviewed design drawings and selecting mold raw materials. Since the selection of mold materials is the key to the entire mold manufacturing and smooth mass production, the mold materials should have good wear resistance, cold and heat fatigue resistance, and corrosion resistance. This ensures that the mold will not fail during use due to wear, extreme temperatures, or gas corrosion. The manufacturing of molds generally goes through forging, fine milling, heat treatment, and other processes. In order to meet certain product requirements, the mold surface will also be processed by discharge, electroplating, corrugation, or other processes.

Mass production

In the sample stage, different silicone materials (standard silicone, fumed silicone, or other grades of silicone) and different molding processes need to be selected according to customer application requirements. Our production department receives the mass production order and starts scheduling production and ordering related materials according to the shipping standards of the customer's signed sample. When all production materials are ready and equipment is adjusted, mass production begins.

Quality inspection and packaging

Since the molding line may cause burrs, especially for molded silicone products, the quality department must check whether the molded parts meet the standards. If there is a flash, the product needs to be trimmed. After this process is completed, OQC conducts random inspections. Qualified products will undergo post-process processing or final packaging.
